About Route & Fleet

Route & Fleet is an independent publication about route management and fleet management software — the systems that plan stops, dispatch drivers, track vehicles, capture proof of delivery, settle route accounts and keep a fleet legal and roadworthy.

We exist because buying this software is unreasonably hard. A 12-van beverage distributor and a 400-truck utility fleet get pitched the same demo deck, the same three case studies and the same "up to 30% savings" claim. Nobody explains what actually changes on a Tuesday morning in the yard.

What we publish

Our library covers ten subject areas, from route optimisation theory to sector-specific playbooks:

How this site is made, and by whom

Route & Fleet is written and edited by one person, Nil Masferrer Jiménez. There is no newsroom and there are no desks.

It is an informational reference compiled from public sources: regulator publications and standards documents, vendor technical documentation and published pricing, and published industry and academic research. It is not written from first-hand experience of operating a fleet, and it does not draw on private interviews or proprietary data. Where a regulation is described, the regulator's own publication is the source, and you should confirm the current text there before setting policy.

What the site adds is organisation and plain language. This information exists, but it is scattered across PDFs, datasheets and sales decks written to persuade rather than to explain. Here it is gathered in one place, defined consistently, and laid out so you can compare like with like.

We describe capabilities and trade-offs rather than declaring a single winner. Two businesses with identical vehicle counts can need opposite systems, and a ranked list that ignores that is entertainment, not advice. Read our editorial policy for the full method.

How we are funded

Route & Fleet is funded by display advertising, served through Google AdSense and clearly labelled as advertising wherever it appears. That is the entire business model on this site today.

We do not take payment for editorial coverage, we do not accept vendor-written articles, and no advertiser sees an article before publication. If that ever changes — for example if we add affiliate links or sponsored content — it will be disclosed in the advertising disclosure before it appears, and labelled on every affected page.

Who writes Route & Fleet

Every article is written and edited by Nil Masferrer Jiménez, who is named on each one. There are no anonymous bylines, no invented experts and no ghost-written vendor copy. If a guest ever contributes, they will be named and their background stated.

Corrections and contact

We publish corrections. If you find an error — a misread regulation, a stale price, a mischaracterised feature — tell us and we will fix it and note the change. The fastest route is our contact page.
